know this sounds "dodgy", but it as an honest question!
I bought my Dad a PC with Windows 2000 about 8 months ago. The company I
bought it off installed Win 2000 for me. When I was loading a few other
applications on, I also remember enabling an option so that windows would
automatically logon with the administrator account, saving the hassle for my
father to have to log on each time. That has been working fine for 8
months, until now. For some reason, when Windows boots it now ceoms up with
the logon screen, but, you guessed it, I can't for the life of me remember
the administrator password. I've spoken to the place I bought it from, but
they say they generally don't set admin passwords. I've tried everything
that I might use as a password, but to no avail.
Am I (or my old man!) completely screwed, or is there someway we can
recover/reset the admin password?
Thanks in advance.
