Problem with MS Word 2003 and Mathtype 5.2a

Hi everyone!
I just installed the latest version of mathtype (5.2a), which is
supposed to be fully compatible with MS Word 2003.
But i cannot format the equations in 'batch mode', as i could in MS
Word 2000 using mathtype 5, even if these equations are initially
created using the newly installed mathtype 5.2a.
I select the option 'format equations' from the mathtype menu, i
define which preference file must be used but nothing happens. I get a
message 'No equations were found'
I have to select each equation independently and format it, which is
not convenient at all...
All the other features work properly, eg. entering equation numbers,
referencing equations etc.
In Tools/Templates and Add-Ins the otption 'Mathtype Commands for
Word' is enabled.
Has anyone else experienced any similar problem?
Is there a workaround?
Or should i roll back to MS Word 2000?

Hi John,

I saw your post on google about this mathtype problem and I am
experiencing the same thing. Did you ever find out what was causing
this? I'd sure love to know. Thanks in advance.

I was able to fix this by removing Microsoft update KB873333. MathType
says this update is a conflict with MathType and MS. MathType is
working on solution.
